Record Covers
Back in the day, when I’d just left art school, I was employed as a record sleeve artist, firstly by Elton John at his company Rocket Records, and then at Chrysalis where I was responsible for a number of high profile designs for both the main Chrysalis label and their subsidiary labels: 2 Tone and Go! Discs.
As with my paintings I often worked from found-images that I’d sourced from old books and magazines. My design work was heavily influenced by the work of collage artists Moholy-Nagy and Kurt Schwitters.
Me circa 1980.
