Miniatures
My miniatures, painted in egg tempera and oil on wood, are inspired by a series of ancient Greek religious icons I first encountered in the amazing cave monastery of Panagia Spiliani on the Greek island of Samos. The icons there are painted on small wooden panels and are illuminated by candles, so they appear to glow, both literally and metaphorically.
