Miniatures
Here is a selection of my miniature paintings in egg tempera and oil on wooden panels. I started painting these after seeing a stunning set of religious icons in an ancient cave-church on the Greek island of Samos. I find that the egg tempera underpaint somehow makes the oil glazes glow.

This is a study for a new diptych that I’m developing. Using the diptych form (originally 2 hinged panels for church altarpieces) I can explore a different sort of narrative. In the case of ‘La Plage’ I'm trying to generate a dynamic association between the two figures that has been paradoxically made stronger by the physical disconnect. Sold.
